Anyone who’s ever been to a Hurricane Karaoke or Hurricane Blaze performance knows that our Emcee and Lead Vocalist, Mikko Blaze Bordeaux, is incredibly talented. In December of 2018, Bordeaux’s talent was on full display on the world stage as he represented the U.S. in the Karaoke World Championship.
Bordeaux won Karaoke Nationals for the second straight year to earn his trip to the world championship in Helsinki, Finland. Placing second in the duet category in 2017, and with another year of performing under his belt, the 2018 world championship would be different.
Singing Rise Up by Andra Day in the finals, Bordeaux placed first in the Solo category and became World Champion.
Since becoming World Karaoke Champion in late December, Bordeaux has been busy performing with Hurricane Karaoke Band and Hurricane Blaze, the karaoke band’s side cover band, as well as solo performances at venues across the midwest. Bordeaux is also busy recording an E.P.
When live band karaoke singers sing with Hurricane Karaoke Band, they’re not only backed by a six-piece band, but they have a world-class vocalist as their back up singer.
